The Raven's Curse
An atmospheric action-adventure leaning on mood, lighting and pacing rather than mechanical depth — a deliberate exercise in how much tone carries a game.

What it is
Players explore an eerie world, avoid hazards and fight hostile enemies while uncovering the story behind an ancient curse. Exploration and survival carry equal weight with combat.
What I built
- Character control and combat tuned around timing and positioning — attacks commit, so spacing is the real skill.
- Environmental interaction and hidden paths that reward players who look rather than rush.
- Escalating encounter design, with enemy strength and encounter complexity rising as the world opens up.
- Atmosphere pass — lighting, colour and animation work aimed at making the world feel hostile before any enemy appears.
What I took from it
Mood is a mechanic. Slowing the player down with darkness and sound did more for tension than raising enemy damage ever did.
